Show Notes
As coaches, we often think we need to do it all alone. We take on our clients’ issues, we take on the responsibility of running our businesses, and quite often it is a juggle in between other thing. But guess what? You do not have to do it all alone. There is so much support out there
Do You Need Help?
Some signs you may need help includes:
- Second-guessing every decision
- Creating content but never publishing
- Consuming too much and not implementing
- Are you creating clients or just staying busy?
Go listen to Episode 283: The Resilience Reset Bouncing Back from Setbacks. It is okay to get knocked down, we all do but getting back up is what matters. And getting help can make it easier.
Get Support
You should have a coach if you do not already. And that was an episode that we did on “Do you have a coach? And if not, why not?” You know as a coach that coaches can be so powerful. Sometimes just unburdening the things that you have to do is very important. We do not want to tell everybody about our problems because we do not want to be judged.
And if you have not listened to last week’s Episode 294: But I will Be Judged, please do. Because yes, you will be judged and quite often, it is by yourself.
You really do not have to do it alone. Let us talk about things you can do to get that support. Maybe a mentor, maybe a coach, or maybe just some other form of support. In your business, it might be getting a bookkeeper. I remember, a bookkeeper was the first thing I outsourced. I used to spend all my Christmas holidays doing my books and doing them badly, too. It would take me the whole four weeks, because in those days I was only working part time and I had four weeks off. I would spend hours and hours doing it.
Now, I do not do that. I still have four weeks of holidays, but I generally split them up throughout the year. When I got a bookkeeper, I gave her my shoebox full of receipts. I thought that would take two weeks. She came back four hours later and said, “Where’s the rest of it?”
That was it. She said, “Easy, done.” And to this day, I still have a bookkeeper. She does my books far more efficiently, and I still have a good understanding of what needs to happen. I just do not have to do it myself.
Set Up Systems
Group similar tasks to avoid constant mental switching. Create content in a block. Schedule it. Then, if you get a VA, they can split it, repurpose it, and publish it throughout the week. Set yourself up now with batching habits so when help arrives, you are ready. It makes everything more efficient.
At the beginning of your business, you may need to set strict work hours. Block out time. Treat it like a job. You would not hang washing in the middle of a Zoom meeting if you worked for someone else. Book chores outside of your work hours. Maybe do them in your lunch break. Keep it structured.
You might tell yourself, “I can cope,” or “I cannot afford to outsource.” It is a catch-22. You are not making money because you are not doing the client outreach. And you are not doing outreach because you are stuck in admin. Start small. I began with a few hours of bookkeeping, and then used that saved time to reach out to clients. That snowballed into more time and more revenue.
Utilise Tools
Use good accounting software or document your systems, even for tools like ChatGPT. If you give poor instructions, you get poor results. Not sure what to post? Use a brainstorming session with ChatGPT. Talk it out. Use voice input. Get the ideas out of your head. Rearrange later.
On the weekend I watched a Netflix movie called The Numbers. It was based on a true story about a man who opened a restaurant using real Italian grandmas to cook. At first, no one came. He tried everything. Finally, he invited a critic. No one accepted. Then he hosted a final big event with friends and family and a junior critic came, wrote a piece, and 15 years later, the restaurant is still running.
He asked for help. He reached out. You can do the same.
Maximise Your Productivity
Sometimes we get caught up in others’ highlight reels. Big platforms. Big followings. And we compare. Then we tell ourselves we need a website. But do you? Plenty of coaches make good money without one. Yes, this is coming from a web designer.
If a website is holding you back, do something else instead. Talk to people. Share your value. Be visible. There are many ways to connect and attract clients. If you are on social media, do not just scroll. Engage. Comment. Add value. Let people know you are a coach.
Track your time. You might be surprised how much of it slips away.
I love the Pomodoro technique. I use 50-minute focus blocks with a 10-minute break. It helps sharpen your awareness and productivity. My stove timer is annoying but effective it forces me to get up and reset. Get serious about how you are using your time.

You Don't Have to Do It All Alone
Remember, asking for help is not weakness. You do not have to do it solo. Support is available. From peers. From mentors. From other coaches. Take care of yourself. Self care is the biggest gift you can give to yourself and your family. You cannot pour from an empty cup.
