How to Start 2025 Strong

Show Notes

As we approach the end of the year, it is time to reflect and start planning for the year ahead. In this episode, we are discussing how you can make 2025 amazing. We will look at ways to define your niche, create a solid business plan, and build trust with your clients. Next week, I will share more strategies to help you continue this momentum, making sure your coaching business grows in 2025.

Reflections, Why Planning Matters

At this time of year, it is tempting to wind down and leave planning for another day. If you are not intentional about setting goals for 2025, you risk simply letting the year happen to you. Successful coaches start with clarity, defining their niche, refining their offers, and mapping out their goals.

Define Your Niche

One of the most important steps in building a successful coaching business is understanding who you serve. Saying, “I can work with anyone,” may feel inclusive but it does not help you stand out. Niching allows you to speak directly to your ideal clients, making them feel seen and understood. Think about your “Sam,” your ideal client. What do they need? How can your services solve their problems? When you position yourself as the expert in your niche, you attract clients who value your expertise and are ready to invest in themselves.

Then make sure that you look at the outcome. So we’ve got that problem and this is where we want to go. So being very clear on our nature can definitely help you to be strong in 2025. It’s going to help you with your marketing. It’s going to help you with your cost creation, what you’re offering one on one, whether you’re doing group, all of those sorts of things, knowing who you’re speaking to is really going to help.

And even if you do general life coaching, we still do general life coaching to specific kinds of people. You’re not going to be doing general life coaching to absolutely everybody. So think about how you can niche that down as well. So is it demographics. Is it a top person? Is it the services you offer? Lots of different ways to niche but it’s  important that you do niche and you get it right

Solidify Your Business Plan

What are you actually offering? Are you going to be offering one on one? Are you going to be offering, facilitating and coaching? Is it pure coaching? What is it that you’re going to do? Get that really clear in your head. Are you just doing consultancy work? Then that’s slightly different again.

But make sure that you know what your business plan is, what your business model is, and how that’s going to work for you and your coaching business. A coaching business is facilitating and mentoring. It’s all fine. You just need to be clear about what you’re offering and who you’re offering it to.

Clarity is key. Are you offering one on one coaching, group programs, or consulting? Knowing your business model helps you focus your energy on what matters most. It also allows you to communicate your value clearly to potential clients.

Use Online Marketing Properly

Online strategy. Yes, there’s lots of online platforms. There are new ones coming out all the time. But are your audience there? Is it something that you can really stick to? Is it something you want to stick to? Video definitely gets the best cut through when it’s done right. But if you’re just making silly TikTok videos to get lots of viral views, is that actually selling your coaching or are you getting thousands of likes and no sales?

Or are you getting a few likes and still no sales? So think about what is working for you, and then think about the way that you’re using online and socials. Are you using them for education? Are you using them for sales? Are you using them for inspiration? Are you using them for motivation? All these sorts of things should be incorporated into your online platform and your content pillars.

Because if you’re only doing one, nobody’s going to know that you got something to sell. If you’re only doing sales, then nobody’s going to get that feel about you to try and work out who you are and what you do. It’s very rare that somebody is going to come across the sales page without any forewarning, any knowledge of you, any warm up and go, yep, you’re the person for me.

So think about a spread on your social platforms, but don’t spread yourself too thin.

Build Trust and Connection

How many times have you spoken to somebody and they’ve said, oh, I’d love to buy, but I’ve already bought ten courses and they didn’t work, then yours is not going to work either. So if you don’t have that trust then they’re not going to buy. So nurturing once again can be a great way to show people and build up that trust so that they can trust themselves in your process, that you will be able to help them and that they can trust you.

Because at the end of the day, it’s confidence and trust. That’s how people buy because we buy on emotions. We don’t buy on logic. We do the logical idea and go, yep, that was a great decision. So glad that I booked that. So glad that I’ve just paid for that

Clients buy based on trust. This includes trust in you, your process, and themselves. By focusing on nurturing relationships, you can build that trust over time. Share case studies, provide insights, and show how your coaching can help them achieve their goals.

Prioritise Systems and Self Care

Having the right systems in place ensures your business runs smoothly. We need to have good systems. We need to have a calendar that people can book in. We need to have great payment options so that people can actually pay. It doesn’t necessarily have to be payment plans, but we need to be able to collect those payments and get them done first.

Equally important is setting boundaries and prioritising self care. Don’t be available 24/7.  Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As you move into the new year, take time to reflect: What worked well in 2024? What challenges did you overcome? What do you want to amplify or change in 2025? Plan your personal and professional calendar now. Book your holidays, set time aside for self care, and create space for growth.

Do your continuous learning. Do your marketing because nobody can find you if they can’t find you. And then get those systems sorted. Roll it all into those boundaries and self-care, making sure that you’re having time off. So have an amazing 2024! I hope you’re taking some time off. Merry Christmas everyone!
