It’s Monday Again. Still No Client?

Show Notes

It is Monday morning. You open up your laptop, it is staring at your planner. You are checking your socials. This week is going to be different. This week you are going to be more focused. You are going to actually set that plan and follow it. This week is going to be the week. But deep down you know it is probably not.

You Are Enough

You are tired. You are sick of your wheels spinning. You are sick of making all this effort and not getting very far. You are not alone. There are so many coaches out there that have got their qualifications and they have been told, build it and they will come. Well, they just do not. You are not broken. There is nothing wrong with you. You just do not have those business skills that you need right now to get that business up and running.

And they are learned skills. And yes, you can learn them. You do not have to throw the baby out with the bathwater. You are perfectly capable. You have got this far. You have got that coaching qualification. You are a fabulous coach. Now let us get to the business skills.

Start Showing Up

So what are you going to do to start with? Where are we going to look? There are so many shiny objects out there. You are tired of chasing. You are tired of doubting. You are tired of wondering how this coaching business is ever going to work for you. And let us be honest. The problem is not that you are not a good coach. The problem is that you do not have enough visibility and your message is not clear. More reels, better lead magnets, new funnels.

A complete rebrand. Another website. The first website. The perfect niche. The pitch. It is not going to work unless you get clear on what your message is. And you are the first one that has to believe it. So who are you going to be speaking to and how are you going to help them? What is their problem that you are going to be able to help?

Maybe articulate it even better than they can. We all know that we have got things that we need to work on, and quite often we are far too close to it to actually know what it is. And that is where you come in. And you can do this.

Be Clear

So, she was showing up on Instagram every day. Carousels, reels, lives, stories. But nobody was reaching out. She was not getting any clients. She was passionate. She was committed. But she had no clarity. She was talking about weight loss one day, nutrition the next day, exercise another. And yes, they are all related, but there was no real common thread. So her messaging was vague.

We got specific. We drew a common thread between all of those things. And guess what, she felt unstuck. That was how she wanted to help her people. She wanted to help midlife career women who were stuck. They did not know where to go. And Anna herself had been stuck. So we got her message really clear. We set up a plan, and she worked out exactly what she needed to do.

Do it every day. Not just turn up and be passionate and committed, but actually have a plan and strategy. And guess what? Her business changed. The clients started coming to her. She became an attraction magnet. It was amazing. And you can too. But you need to be very clear on who it is that you help and what the problem is that you are going to solve.

Speak Their Language

Do not try to solve all the problems because then your message gets diluted. What you need before you create more content is clarity. Solid foundations. Speaking directly to your clients. Speaking about their pain points. Getting in their heads so that they know you know how to solve it. And a wonderful way to do that is to use their language.

Have you already had a few clients? Maybe a few free clients? What is the language your people are using? Go out and talk to them. Once you have got a few coaching hours under your belt, you will start to pick out those patterns. And it is really important that you use that language so they know you understand. We have all seen ads and messages that make us say, “Oh, that is me.” That is because they are using our words.

Be Specific

David was another client. He had everything. The credentials. The shiny website. All sorted. But again, he was trying to talk to everyone. He had all the buzzwords and jargon. He kept hiding behind big phrases like “transformation.” But it was not clear or specific. It was not anyone’s particular language. So we honed it down. He wanted to talk to new managers and lead them with confidence.

His engagement tripled. And with very little extra effort, the clients came in. Because now they knew he was a leadership coach working in a specific area. They were his target market.

That is what you have to do. Hone in. Yes, you can offer general coaching, but you still need to speak to someone in particular. Use their language. Is it a location, a demographic, a specific type of person? Something has to make your message connect. Otherwise, it is like selling water to someone who already has plenty.

Get Moving

We all know when we go on a road trip, we have a map. We have a destination. You know your destination is a thriving business. And there are many ways to get there. But you need to pick one path and stick with it for a while. It does not mean it will never change. The destination might evolve too. But if you just keep turning left, then left, then left again, you will end up back where you started.

And that is why your wheels are spinning. So let us get you moving. Let us get you clear. If you would like some help with that, let me know. I can help you map out what that actual course looks like, what steps to take. As it happens, I have a couple of spots open in my Coaches Marketing Roadmap programme.

It's Monday Again. Still No Client?

You are not broken. You are not behind. You are not the only one. Most coaches struggle at the beginning. It is not that they are not working hard enough. It is that they do not have clarity. They have not honed that message to cut through the noise. But you can do this. And what you need to do is to make sure that next Monday is not the same as this Monday, or the last Mondays. Make sure your Mondays are different from now on. You can get your life back. You can find that enthusiasm for coaching again. Because we know that is what you want – to create a thriving business, help people and be a wonderful coach.
