Today’s topic might be a bit of a controversial subject. How to leverage technology without losing that human touch. AI is such a big area, and what we are really talking about here is machine learning, in some respects. And then artificial intelligence in others. See, it’s really a big topic, but it can be break down into a couple of different areas.
The Advantages of AI
Sometimes, you type in the wrong words or the phrases are all mixed up. Like a certain word should go at the front but when you read it back and quite often makes much more sense.And it’s the way most other people talk. So sometimes that can be a good thing. AI does check spelling too. Let’s admit it, a wrongly spelled word is something that’s really hard to pick up on spell check, isn’t it?
You can also use AI to get topics like you can do role plays if you have a difficult question. Okay. This is scenario. This is what I want to say. One of the possible answers that I could come up with or in this situation, what could be their point of view. It’s amazing how you can get so much more information by just doing a simple role play. And you don’t need to have anybody else. ChatGPT can do that perfectly well for you.
So there’s lots of different ways that you can use it, a lot of other ways that we’re already leveraging technology that you might have realized. Remember the zoom backgrounds where we either put on a virtual background or we blur out what’s there? That’s been around for a long time and that’s all AI technology. So there’s so many things that have been around that we just didn’t realize quite so much until it came to the forefront.
AI With a Human Touch
If we are getting AI to write our content for us, is that one plagiarism or two? Are we losing our human touch? It depends on how you use it. So, if you think of ChatGPT or Gemini or any of the other different varieties, as a junior, as an intern, if you will, you would give them a whole stack of information. You wouldn’t just ask them a simple question. Write me a 200-word blog post.
You would give them some background information. You would say who you are, what you do. It probably gives them examples of stuff you had done before, the style, the tone, and then potentially a topic.
And then make sure that you are reading what you are putting into wherever and just thinking about it, tweaking it. If it doesn’t quite sound like you, go back to chat and say, “hey, I really like this bit with this bit in”. For example, here in Australia we use UK English and we don’t want a whole pile of Zs so we will need to edit or tweak the result so there are no Zs at all.
Or conversely, if you are in America and you want it to be American English, making sure that it is doing it. So thinking of how you actually would talk to it as if it was a person. And you can now actually do voice prompts. You can talk to it and it could talk to you back.
So make sure that you are basically giving it the correct information. So what is it something you’ve written before? What do you like about that? What about the tone? The style? All those kinds of things. And that’s how you can use technology to really leverage it without losing your human touch.
Tweak The Results
Make sure that you are reading what you are putting into wherever and just thinking about it, tweaking it. If it doesn’t quite sound like you, go back to chat and say, “hey, I really like this bit with this bit in”. How to Leverage AI Without Losing the Human Touch
Don’t be scared of it of AI. It’s not too late to learn and use socials since we can’t live without them these days. So, make sure that you are learning, keeping ahead of the eye curve, leverage AI but make sure you are keeping you in it and that human touch of yours. You’ll see, it will make your life easier.
