Fear, Future and Moving Forward – Covid-19

Show Notes

Today, we are going to talk about the Coronavirus – CONVID 19 that has affected many people in the last few weeks of March 2020.

Please Stop and Breathe.

What is Your Reality?

I am not going to talk about the right or wrong of what has happened and continues to happen. We all have our own personal opinion on that. What I want to ask you is what is your reality, what are you making this all mean for you, your family, your friends, your business and your future?

Are you spending all your days refreshing the news  – 60 times an hour, listening, reading and grabbing at every snippet you can get your hands on and spiralling into an even deeper state of gloom and doom. STOP IT.

Get Some Perspective

You need to get some perspective of your current personal situation and see what positives you can draw from it. Look at what you can be doing right now. Even if you are self-isolating or working from home.

What Can You Do Right Now

  • Clarify Your Systems
  • Upgrade Your Learning
  • Get Your Filing Up To Date
  • Do Graphics for Marketing Campaigns later in the Year
  • Do Your Data Input
  • Meditate
  • Do The Project You Never Have Time For
  • Write that Book
  • Learn That Language

Look After You

At times like this, you really need to be aware of what you are consuming. The negative impact that you get on all this bad news is clouding your mind. Now, I am not saying don’t be informed. However, you don’t need to spend your whole day refreshing the news.

In fact, I would challenge you to only check into the news 2 or 3 times a day for 15 minutes. Will you miss out on anything? No. If it is bad enough or relevant enough, someone will tell you.

You must look after your mental state, your own well being.

Obviously, physical wellbeing and nutrition is also really important.

Earlier in the week, I did a blog post on my CATCO Enterprises listing out a whole lot of tools that you can use, some free to make your life easier when working from home or in self-isolation. How to Protect your Business from the Effects of Coronavirus

Focus on the work and tasks you need to do each day. Set your mind set that same as you would if you were working in an office or worksite.

  • Put your uniform on
  • Have tasks for the day
  • Have a dedicated work space preferably where you can close the door
  • Think about the background noise (Do you need music or Do you need to use head phone)
  • Have set hours and set breaks
  • Don’t sit at your desk for hours and hours
  • Go for a walk/do some exercise
  • Have a hard stop, where you finish working no matter how much work is left on your desk
