You Can Still Grow Your Business Without Having to Spend a lot of Money
Many small or small to medium-sized business owners are unaware there are a multitude of different strategies you can start using and implementing in your business that aren’t going to cost you a lot of money. People assume when on social media they need to be doing Facebook advertising, which can be quite expensive. Digital advertising can be expensive when using Google AdWords and so forth. You can still grow your business without having to spend a lot of money on these paid platforms.
Adding Value to Your Business
One of the things you can do to grow your business is to have a market-dominating position or a unique selling proposition. This is the foundational element of marketing, what makes you stand out from your competitors. Many business owners struggle to articulate what makes them unique because when in the marketplace they assume they need to reduce their pricing to get business. In reality, consumers are searching for value and in terms of value it’s not just the price. Adding value could be “What other products can we give them? What other services can we give them?” This comes down to knowing and understanding your customers, and their wants and needs. If you’re not nurturing your customers, they’re going to go somewhere else leaving you constantly searching for new customers.
Why are You Unique? What Makes You Stand out From Your Competitors?
Having a unique selling proposition is coming up with a statement that you can use across all marketing communications about what makes you unique. This statement needs to be simple, succinct, and as soon as someone sees it, they know exactly who you are, what you stand for and why they should be buying from you rather than buying from one of your competitors.
Have a Clear Vision for Your Business
Having a big vision for your business is knowing what your highest values are and incorporating these into what you do. A clear vision gives you direction because you know what your destination is, and you can work backwards from there. Having a clear vision is knowing exactly what you want your business to look like in 10 or 15 years from now and working towards that.
Happy Customers Will Help Market Your Business For You
Customer testimonials and recommendations are powerful. Customers that are happy customers, will refer others, saving you money on advertising. Happy customers will consistently spend more money with you. Keeping customers happy can be checking in with them, having a chat with them, having a coffee, sending them a little present, doing that whole nurture where there is a little cost factor involved. You may find that you’re doubling or even tripling the services that you’re giving to those customers, so it can be a win-win.
