Finding Your Hidden Profits

I have a book coming out in North American fall, Australia’s spring, on how to find your hidden profits, more clients and cash. What I do with my client’s businesses, is look at them and suggest what needs to be tweaked to help increase sales. They’re all strategies to help you increase your sales without doing any more marketing or advertising.

Becoming More Resourceful With Hidden Profits

You must become more resourceful with your hidden profits, as opposed to trying the latest social media strategy. Every time there’s something new that happens, business owners think it’s a magic bullet or magic pill that’s going to solve their business problems, whereas you have things that you can do right now in your business that would help you make more money.

We need to be Asking our Clients Questions and not Just Making Assumptions

When we assume, we’re putting ourselves in our client’s shoes and we’re not in their shoes, so we don’t know. We need to be asking our client, and not just making that assumption that we know best because we’ve been doing it 20 years because we learn something new every day and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a shiny object. It’s a case of looking at the way we’re doing business.

Identify Your Perfect Client

Pareto’s Principle is that 20% of something makes up for 80%. Therefore, 20% of your clients are probably making up for 80% of your revenue. Most people focus on the 80% that are only making up for 20% of the revenue, which means they’re dealing with customer service headaches, they’re dealing with people that are sucking their energy, sucking their time, their resources, their team.

Think of your clients who you work with that get results with you, love working with you, and you love working with them. When you start focusing on those clients and create your marketing around those clients, revenues increase. Why? As the perfect clients, buy more and buy more often and they refer more.

Messaging and Strategic Positioning

Once you figure out who your perfect client is, you need to look at what are the pains of that perfect client and what are the goals and wants of the perfect client? What is it that’s keeping them from reaching their goals? Being able to add value and talk to your customer about what they need.
